Balutia starts in Pozoblanco (Córdoba, Spain). From there, riders follow a loop route that returns to Pozoblanco for the finish.

Balutia is an adventure that requires experience in bikepacking or ultra-distance cycling. However, you do not need to have completed similar events before. If you have experience of multi-day bike trips averaging around 150 km per day and prepare adequately, Balutia can be within your reach.

Yes, but they are virtual. There will be no staff at the checkpoints, and no stamps to collect. Your GPS tracker will automatically verify your passage through each checkpoint.

Pozoblanco offers several accommodation options, including hotels and tourist apartments such as Hotel Nómada, Hotel Zoom, Hostal Noriega and Apartamentos Quercus. We strongly recommend booking as early as possible.

If you are travelling by campervan or motorhome, there are also several suitable places to stay overnight that we can recommend.

There are plenty of bars and cafés along the route for food and resupply. Accommodation options, however, are less common, so bringing a sleeping bag and mat is a good option if you plan to spend the night bivvying.

Following the tradition of major bikepacking events, Balutia is a self-supported personal journey and adventure. If you decide to scratch, you will be responsible for making your own way back.

It is also mandatory to inform the organisation if you scratch.

To make things easier, we have designed three shortcut routes along the course that allow riders to return directly to the start/finish location if needed.

Balutia starts on 30 April 2027 at 07:00. The time limit is 133 hours, meaning the finish line will close on Wednesday 5 May at 20:00.

Attendance at rider check-in and the official briefing on the afternoon of Thursday 29 April is mandatory.

Your family and friends are welcome to see you off at the start and welcome you back at the finish line. However, they may not provide any form of support or assistance along the route.

No. Balutia does not offer prizes to winners, nor is there a podium ceremony. Balutia is an adventure, a challenge against yourself.

Some riders will aim to complete the route as quickly as possible, while others may simply enjoy the honour of being the first to finish. However, there is no trophy awarded for victory.

If you complete the route within the time limit, you will earn your Finisher medal.

You will be expected to repair it yourself. If that is not possible, you may seek assistance from a bike shop or workshop. Should you leave the route to reach a workshop, you must return to the exact point where you left the track before continuing.

Yes. Balutia has an official rulebook that will be sent to all participants a few weeks before the event. In the meantime, you can view a summary by clicking here.
