Drawn to unknown landscapes and long days on the bike, I started participating in ultra-distance events such as El Kilómetro Cero, Badlands, and Gran Guanche.
The addiction to adventure that I felt in ultracycling events is exactly the same that drives me today to create Balutia, an ultradistance bikepacking adventure with a spectacular route through diverse and challenging landscapes.
An adventure where improvisation, endurance, and self-sufficiency go hand in hand, pushing riders beyond their limits while immersing them in the raw beauty of the wild.
In 2022, together with fellow cyclists, I founded Al-Ballut, a bikepacking association and route designed to be explored by bike and to showcase the region of Los Pedroches.
After Al-Ballut, we became fully aware of the true scale of this historic territory.
Soon, I began mapping out a longer adventure—one that would go farther, venture into more remote and diverse landscapes, and delve deeper into solitude and long days on the bike.
The result is Balutia.
An ultra-distance adventure in every sense. Over 800 kilometers of unique trails and roads.
Some will choose to ride at a relaxed pace, stopping to take in its hidden corners, while others will push themselves to the limit, pedaling day and night. The rules are the same for everyone.
But make no mistake—Balutia is a true challenge, set in a landscape as breathtaking as it is remote.
